Albergaccio rosso di Toscana IGT

The Albergaccio is the ancient inn of S. Andrea in Percussina, near San Casciano Val di Pesa, at the gates of Florence, where Niccolò Machiavelli ate his meals and played cards during his exile. Here the writer of “Il Principe” would have usually drunk the “Vino Vermiglio” of the last vintage, made from grapes from his land which, in due course, passed on, through marriage, to the Conti Serristori. The red wine which now bears the name of Albergaccio is the modern version of the traditional Tuscan wine for early drinking.

    TASTING NOTES

Ruby red color, with crimson tints; vinous bouquet, fragrant with enticing hints of marinated fruits of the forest and suggestions of irises and violets; attractive, soft, fruity and very balanced flavor, with a pleasing, lingering aftertaste of blackberries and raspberries.

Drink over the next 2-3 years.
